TS3A27518E: Can this part to be used for Dual host?

Hello,

I have the query about the application of TS3A27518E. In the datasheet it shows that this IC can be used to multiplex the SDIO port for two SD-Cards and one Host controller. But in our application we have two Hosts and one SD-card. So, can I use this part for dual host controller and one peripheral?

Just for the information - I used TXS02612RTWR earlier but it doesn't work as TXS02612RTWR has single directional clock and not able to fulfill our purpose of two host.

Analog switches are bidirectional, so this is possible.

A plain switch does not understand the SD protocol. You will probably need to reset and reinitialize the card after switching the host.

Hello Nishant,

The TS3A27518E is a 2:1 analog switch, and analog switches are bidirectional. It can be used as a 1:2 switch for your application.

Also please let me know if this IC has any Evaluation kit. So, we can also order that and test it before going to new version of our board.

Hello Nishant,

The TS3A27518E does have an evaluation kit. Please note it is doesn't have the footprint for the RTW package.
