TMUX1208: Latch-up Mode

Part Number: TMUX1208

I have 2 questions as below.

(1) If induced voltage is generated at TMUX1208 as shown in below, the IC will exceed its rated voltage, there is a possibility of failure.

→ Can you predict what operating mode will be in case of failure? Please provide as much detail as possible.

(2) If a failure occurs such as case (1), is it possible to recover by turning the power back on?

(1)TMUX1208にP3 , Fig.2の様に誘導電圧が発生することで、ICが定格電圧を超えるため、故障する可能性があると思います。

　→故障する場合の動作Modeがどうなるか想定できますか？できるだけ詳細に教えてください。

(2) ,(1)で故障する場合、例えば電源再投入して復帰動作するということがあり得ますか？

    Hello Nobuharu,

    When you asked " what operating mode will be in case of failure" I am assuming you asking what happens to the device when it is being operated above the recommended voltage or when it breaks. So as far as I can explain, when a device is being operated in such a voltage level, we can't guarantee nor predict how it will behave. But for a specific case of a failure, the device will stop working reliably. It will not output a steady signal, or a signal at all. Ron will increase drastically and it might cause damage to other components in the system. 

    I depends on how big the failure is. The TMUX1208 is rated up to 5.5V and according to your image it was operated at 6.74V which is not a big difference, so in your case you device might still be fine. It might be possible to recover.
