CD4051B: changes in input current

Part Number: CD4051B

Hi Sir/ Madam,

For the part CD4051BPWR the addendum has been changed from SCHS047I –AUGUST 1998–REVISED SEPTEMBER 2017 Addendum 2021-Jan-11 to Addendum 2023-Oct-16.

  • Input Current, IIN (Max) (uA) has been changed
  • From ± 0.1 @ -55°C(typ)
  • To ±1 @ -55°C (max) for the test condition VIN = 0, 18V .
  • Input Current, IIN (typ) (uA) has been changed from ± 10(–5) @ 25°C to ±0.6 @ 25°C for the test condition VIN = 0, 18V
  • The typical value ±1uA have been changed to maximum value for 125°C in the newer addendum datasheet
  •
  • What is the effect of these changes if the module is used as a demux.
  • Hello Deeksha,

There actually is no change in this device's operation being used as a mux or demux. All ti analog switches are bidirectional and can be used sending signals from source to drain or drain to source. The changes in the datasheet actually improve reliability of this device and expand the actual amount of current that can go on the input. This datasheet change only reflects improvement in device operation.

    Regards,

    Kameron
