TMUX1309-Q1: CAN TXD - RXD multiplexing

Part Number: TMUX1309-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1057A-Q1

Hi Team,

Can I ask a question about CAN TXD-RXD multiplexing?

when we want to share one CAN TXD - RXD pair with two MCUs, TMUX1309-Q1 can support as its multiplexing.

in that case, are there anything we have to take care?

When I consider TMUX1309-Q1 and TCAN1057A-Q1 combination as example, TMUX1309-Q1 can cover following TCAN1057A-Q1 abso max ratings.

from electrical characteristics point of view, TMUX1309-Q1 can support is but if there are any other concerns you come up with, please let me know.

Regards,

Kai

  • There are no special considerations for muxing digital logic signals; just check that the voltages and frequencies are supported by the switch.

  • Hi Kai,

Just like Clemens mentioned, the main considerations are signal and supply voltages as well as bandwidth. As long as these are accounted for then you can use the TMUX1309-Q1 in your application.

Can you share the use case of this application? I noticed it's an automotive part so just wondering what the application is here.

    Regards,

    Alex
