The TMUX646 does not have clamping diodes to V_DD; see [FAQ] Do I need powered-off protection? (HI-Z when Vcc = 0V) and [FAQ] Do TI Analog Switches/Multiplexers have Internal ESD Protection?

Yes. (Due to how the die is constructed, pretty much all devices have parasitic diodes from GND.)

Hi Madhu,

Clemens gave some good answers here so far. There are diodes to GND on the I/O pins. The absolute maximum ratings shows a lower limit of −0.5 V. This implies that there is a diode from GND towards the pin.
