CD4066B: Need information about sinking current of CD4066B

Part Number: CD4066B

Hi all,

We are having a issue in our product where input source control (0-10 volts) to analog switch is low powered (5 mA) and output of analog switch is connected to other device which is high powered device (10mA).

I want to know how much each channel can sink when it is connected a low powered input and high powered output which is trying to sink more power (10 mA).

We want to know which type of buffer or switch will work in this situation.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hey Srikanth,

I'm not sure I follow what you're looking for here. Can you maybe elaborate more or share a schematic or drawing of your use case?

It sounds like you're saying you have two different currents going through the mux but the mux input and output will be connected together so they should be seeing the same current through it.

Bottom line though, each input of the mux can handle up to +/- 10mA.

    Thanks,
    Rami
