TS3A27518E: S-parameter model in forum does not match the datasheet

Part Number: TS3A27518E

TS3A27518E S-Parameter model TS3A27518E_sParameters_25C.S2P does not simulate as the datasheet suggests it should.  There is significant signal degradation at 100MHz.  The datasheet says it has typical 4 ohm on resistance, and a bandwidth of 240MHz.  Can someone verify the S-params match this device?

  • Hi William,

Out of curiosity, where did you find the model? Is it from this post? I'm not sure how this was generated 7 years ago so I reran a S-parameter model file we have that should give a better approximation of the device behavior. Please see the attached and let me know if this helps.

  • Hi Alex,

Thanks for taking a look at this.  I tried to cancel my comment, but apparently, it still stayed on the forum.

The original file is from the forum on the TI website.  There are a couple of options to run within this model.  Only one includes a serial pass through.  I was running the wrong one that doesn't have that, which is why my results looked so horrible.  So I was ultimately able to get my sim to result in what I would expect from this device.  I will still try out this new model to see if there are any interesting differences.

    Thanks,

    Bill
