SN74CB3Q3251: Does SN74CB3Q3251 and TMUX1308 support analog signal ?

Part Number: SN74CB3Q3251
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMUX1308, , TMUX1208

Tool/software:

I'm looking for analog mux with low Ron and Con. I found SN74CB3Q3251 and TMUX1308.

Does SN74CB3Q3251 and TMUX1308 support "analog" input and output ?

Please let me conform just in case.

Regards

  • Hello Yoshihiro,

    Both of the devices can pass analog signals from input to output.

    For the CB3Q device it can pass signals from 0v 5.5V and the TMUX1308 can pass signals from 0V to VDD.

    Is there a particular voltage and frequency input signal you are trying to pass through the switch?

    If you are looking for a simple 8:1 1 channel multiplexer the TMUX1208 is also a good option.

    Please let me know if this helps and I can explain further if needed.

  • Hi,

    The signal is about 1MHz, 0-3.3V square wave. This square wave is used to excite the 9 capacitive sensors.

    One signal source is connected 9 sensors by analog MUX. Therefore, actually 1:9 MUX is the best solution. But what I can find is 16:1 or 8:1 MUX.

    So the actual solution is  8:1 MUX x 2, or 16:1 MUX x 1.

    If you have suggestion on 16:1 MUX with low Ron(<100ohm) and low Con(<15pF), could you suggest ?

    Regards,

    Yoshihiro

  • Hello Yoshiro,

    The best solution I can find is using 2x TMUX1308 devices. There are no 16:1 options that fit your requirements

    The TMUX1308 supports your bandwidth, Ron and con requirements.

    Please let me know if you need any other assistance.

  • Hi,

    How about SN74CB3Q3251 x 2 ?

    In my idea, lower Ron x Con is better because Ron and Con configure CR low pass filter.  From that perspective, SN74CB3Q3251 seems better.

    Do I have to consider any other concern ?

    TMUX1308

    Ron = 59pF(typ)

    Con = 11pF(typ)

    Bandwidth = 500MHz

    SN74CB3Q3251

    Ron = 3.5pF(typ)

    Con = 15pF(typ)

    Bandwidth = 500MHz

  • Hello Kaneko,

    Using 2x SN74CB3Q3251 devices is also a good idea as it supports your requirements.

    Please let me know if you need any other assistance!
