Do they have same die? What updates have we made to CD4051BM96 to make it cheaper than CD4051BM96G3?

The website does not show this information, but G3 usually indicates Sn lead plating (instead of NiPdAu).

Market prices are determined by supply and demand. It is likely that older CD4051B devices are not yet made from 300 mm wafers.

There are different dies. The guaranteed datasheet limits are the same.
