SN74LV4051A: EOL for SN74LV4051APW

What is the reason for the EOL of the SN74LV4051APW?

We received back a defective product and traced the problem to a failure of two of the four SN74LV4051APW chips on our board. We see the part is now end-of-life. Is the replacement (SN74LV4051APWR) different in any functional way, or was this just an update to the part number or product packaging?

    Hello Robert,

    The SN74LV4051APW and SN74LV4051APWR are the same device.

    The SN74LV4051APWR just is a product packaging difference because it comes in a larger tape and reel than the SN74LV4051APW.
