TMUX1134: what happened if Vsel is 3.3V when VDD is +2.5V and VSS is -2.5V

I'm not mentioned about page10 of TMUX1134 datasheet which said that voltage on SEL pin should be less than 2.75V in this situation. But what happened if 3.3V is keeped on this pin. Does that can do some permanent damage to TMUX1134?
