TMUX7612: Audio Hi-Fi preamplifier - input selector

Part Number: TMUX7612

Tool/software:

Hi, as part of the same design I've written about in other posts, I plan to utilize TMUX7612 for audio signal switching. For example, in the input selector stage.

I found that the crosstalk, capacity, on-resistance, etc.. are really stunning, for this TMUX7612.

My max amplitude input signal, which shall be switched, will be about 8 V RMS. I plan to power the TMUX7612 with 15+15V dual supply.

Could you also recommend this part, for my application  ? (I might have very low voltage signals, like few mV RMS)

thank you very much !

Matteo

  • Hi Matteo,

The TMUX7612 is a good choice for audio since it does have the low low THD as well!
So the thing that could be something to look into is the 8Vrms voltage. If 8V is your peak RMS voltage (~11.3V), you'll be on the edge of where the RON ramps up for a +/-15V supply so your THD performance may be reduced.

It's cutting it close but you should be good. Just wanted to point it out in case that 8Vrms end up being a tad higher.

    Thanks,
    Rami
