LMH6586: Can I use the LMH6586 as an I/O multiplexer for non video applications?

Tool/software:

I plan to use the LMH6586 to multiplex an MCU's GPIO pins as shown in the provided schematic. The 32 inputs will be connected to LEDs and buttons, while the 16 outputs will interface with 16 GPIO pins (e.g., PORTA of a 16-bit MCU). Will using the LMH6586 in this configuration cause any issues? Additionally, are there better alternatives for achieving this functionality?

    Hello Abdellah,

    Shouldn't be any issues as long as the signals passing through the mux don't exceed its recommended specification limits. 

    You can have a multichip solution using 16 channels of 2:1. You can implement 4 TMUX1574 to mux your signals. It will be a smaller and cheaper solution.
