CD4052B: Inquiry on CD4052BPWR impedance measurement failure

Part Number: CD4052B

Tool/software:

Hi, TI expert

The customer has been applying CD4052BPWR to Manual Defibrillator/Monitor products for years without any problems.

However, in recent product production, a defect occurred where the impedance measurement was not possible when the second SHOCK was applied after the first SHOCK was applied. After reviewing, it was confirmed that it was a CD4052BPWR defect.

The customer performed a replacement test with the stock (3 units - Lot, see attached file below) for repair, but the same impedance measurement failure symptom was confirmed for all products.

(CD4052BPWR)_Impedance Measurement Failure Lot.xlsx

All lots currently unavailable for impedance measurement are confirmed to be Rev B produced at the New Fab site (RFAB). (PCN# 20230228003.1)

It is said that there were no issues with the previous version of the product.
Is there any history of this issue occurring after changing to Rev B produced at the New Fab site (RFAB)?

Is there any expected cause of the issue?

Please check. Thank you.

  • Damage occurs only when you exceed the absolute maximum ratings. What are the voltages at all pins in this application?

The absolute maximum ratings have not changed. But the new die uses finer structures, so it is indeed possible that it degrades faster than the old one when you exceed the limits.
