TMUX646: Switch for MIPI-DSI and LVDS display signals

Part Number: TMUX646

Tool/software:

Dear TI-Team,

we have some CPU-boards designed for the new "OSM-Standard Hardware Specification (OSM Version V1.2)".

In the "OSM Hardware Specification (Size-S)" the display signals are defined for dual use.

Display signals can be used as MIPI-DSI (4xDatapair+1xClkpair) or used as LVDS (4xDatapair+1xClkpair).

Depending on the type of "Embedded-Modul" there could be display signals for "MIPI-DSI"  or "LVDS" on the same lines.

My question:

Is it possible to use an Analog-Switch for MIPI-DSI and LVDS signals?

We will use the "Analog-Switch (highspeed)" to connect the display input signals (MIPI-DSI or  LVDS)  to two different display-connectors (MIPI-DSI or LVDS).

Regards

  • Hello Horst,

Yes, you can use the same mux for both protocols.

Since our multiplexers are passive, it doesn't matter what type of signal you are passing as long as its voltage and frequency are not exceeding the mux's limitations.

    Thanks,

    Nir
