We are using TS5A23159 in our new design. There is CNO(ON) capacitance 55pF and CCOM(ON) is 54.5pF in datasheet (typical values). Please provide answers for below points.

1. What will be the effective capacitance when COM port is connected with NO port. This information is very critical for our design.

2. If there is any other device (SPDT) available with ultra-low ON capacitance with same features, Please suggest. We need this device for 100 MHz bandwidth with 100mA current applications.

    1. The effective capacitance for the TS5A23159 for different voltages is these:

    VCC = 5V: CNO(ON) ≈ 55pF, CCOM(ON) ≈ 54.5pF

    VCC = 3.3V: CNO(ON) ≈ 56pF, CCOM(ON) ≈ 56pF

    VCC = 2.5V: CNO(ON) ≈ 56.5pF, CCOM(ON) ≈ 56.5pF

    VCC = 1.8V: CNO(ON) ≈ 56pF, CCOM(ON) ≈ 56.5pF

    So, you can expect a capacitance of ~ 55 57pF depending on the supply voltage

    2. Another SPDT device with at least 100MHz but depending on the voltages

    For 3V we have the TMUX136 that has a capacitance with 1.4pF

    For 5V we have the TMUX1574 that has a capacitance with 7.5pF

    Thanks for update.

    My query is what will be total capacitance for signal at NO pin when NO pin is connected with COM and VCC=5V

    Will it be 109.5pF (55pF+54.5pF) or only ≈ 55pF because switch will be like short when NO is connected with COM.

    When NO is connected to COM, the effective capacitance at the NO pin is 55pF, represented as CNO(ON) ≈ 55pF. The capacitances do not sum together when NO connects to COM because the capacitance measured at the ports already accounts for the internal connections.
