Hi ,

I'm looking over the datasheets of a few of the HDMI/DVI mux-demux offerings and there seems to be a wide range of power consumptions numbers, we have zero'd in on the TS3DV621 as it seems to fit into the power budget we are looking for. However I wanted to clarify what the operational current of the device is, Page 6 of the datasheet lists VCC supply current as 300uA typ, but also lists the I i/o= 0. So could someone clarify the power numbers during typical data/use case operation?

Hello Rick,

The Icc values will not change with a change in IO voltage and has no correlation with the IO voltages. It will increase as a result of switching the channels quickly (toggling the SEL lines repeatedly).

I see, so operational state (streaming HDMI content) will always be 300uA typ for the entire device, but we will see a current bump at the transition time from bank A to bank B?

Hello Rick,

Yes that is correct, but it won't be noticeable if you are switching from A to B one time. You would notice the increase if you were rapidly switching between channels. Icc will increase (almost) linearly with an increase in switching frequency.
