Although only typ is written to the data sheet(TS3DV421) as for tpd, how much are Min and Max?

Thank you for your consideration.

  • Hello Satoshi,

What application is the TS3DV421 being used for and what is the concern with tpd?

    Regards,

    Andrew

  • Dear Andrew-san

Thank you for the early response.

    Application is TV.

It is used with 1:2 switches of HDMI.

Since tpd (typ) is 0.25 ns, customer think that a problem does not, but it is requested that he would like to know if there is tpd(Max).

In addition, it is due to use it also by TV (2k2k/60Hz of customer original).

(I think that it is satisfactory since TS3DV421 is doing 4k2k correspondence of)

    Best regards,

    Satoshi

  • Hello Satoshi-san,

I would not recommend TS3DV421 for a 2k2k/60 Hz application.  This will use close to the full throughput of HDMI.   I would recommend using the TS3DV642, a new switch targeted for this application.  It features a much wider BW (over 6 GHz) for passing high speed HDMI signals. Samples will be available in the near future.

The TS3DV421 has a bandwidth of 1.9 GHz making it theoretically possible to push 3.8 Gbps through the switch.  However, in implementation board losses will affect this BW and cause further signal degradation, resulting in application issues.

    Andrew

  • Dear Andrew san

Thank you for the good idea.
    It proposes to a customer.
Moreover, is tpd (Max) of TS3DV642 understood?

    Best Regards,

    Satoshi

  • Hello Satoshi-san,

tpd (Max) of the TS3DV642 will not be spec'd but the typical value will be <50 ps.  This value is subject to change as characterization is on-going.

Once the device RTMs the full datasheet  and an EVM will be available for customer evaluation.

    Regards,

    Andrew
