TS3USB3000 on TS3USB221EVM?

Is it possible to replace the TS3USB221 with a TS3USB3000 on the TS3USB221EVM? If so, are there any modifications or special considerations that need to be made?

    Hello Jimmy,

    It is possible yes.  However the TS3USB221EVM was designed for USB2.0 480 Mbps data rate and not MHL 3Gbps data rate so I do not know how the board will perform. In addition the TS3USB221 EVM has standard A receptacles which will not easily allow and MHL source to connect to the EVM.

    An EVM for the TS3USB3000 designed for high speed applications is currently in development and will release later this year.
