About BQ24392 ( Data Contact Detection) deglitch time and other Question

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24392

Hi

I have some question for BQ24392 DCD detect timing.

I read about this device data sheet.

About  Flow Chart of Detection Sequence in Data sheest ,  DCD ( Data Contact Detection)  judgment

need 600msec  by this flow chart.

[ Question ]

 1)   The 600msec need detect for DCD (Data Contact Detection) in this Flow Chart.

Question is deglitch time for this detect function

We think actualy detect time need  600msec +  ?? msec .    * ??msec is deglitch time.

And we want to know about this deglitch time spec.

Beacuse of  Control Host side MCU software need waiting  this total (600msec + Deglitch time ) time

      for detect timing.

Could you tell us about tis DCD Detect deglitch time??

2)   D+ / D-  detect and SDP judgment time spec.

We want to know about t D+/ D- detect judgment time spec for SDP.

Data sheet Flow has  SDP detect time flow  about

PRIMARY Detection  ->   Standard Downstrem Port  ->   USB Switch ON / OFF

Question is  detection and deglitch time spec  for  USB Switch ON  /  OFF.

Could you tell us about this  detection and deglitch time until  USB SW ON / OFF?

3)  About  IDLE condition ( VBUS > VBUS_VALID) detect time and deglitch time.

USB connector some time not stable , For instance  likea  " chattering. "

We think  IDLE detect  spec has  deglitch time  for  like a chattering eliminator.

Could you tell us about this  IDLE  detect deglitch time ??

Why we have this question??

Now we making  MCU software for this device statsu control.and need about these spec for MCU

waiting time decide.

Thanks and Regard

Jasper

  • Hello Jasper,

Question 1:  The ~600 ms includes the de-glitch time.

Question 2:  After an insertion the outputs will change status before , so within ~600 ms of VBUS being high the outputs will be valid.

Question 3:  I'm not following what you mean by chattering eliminator.  The VBUS valid debounce time is approximately 8 ms.

If anything is unclear or you have more questions I would be happy to help in any way I can.

    Regards,

    Andrew
