Hi

I have question for BQ23393  VBUS  VALID Threshold Tolerance Spec.

 

[ Question  ]

 1)  Data Sheet has VBUS Valid Threshold  Typ Value 3.5V , but nothing Min / Max value.

      Could you tell us about  Min / Max value or  Torelance ( ?? ±　%）　?

 

 2)  About this Typ 3.5V Question

     I can not understand this VBUS Valid Threashold mean.

     Whats puorpose about this Valid Voltage Spec ?  

     * About this voltage for USB Standard Spec f??

    Hello Jasper,

    This is the voltage threshold for when the BQ24392 will start running detection.  The USB Spec specifies that VBUS must be between 4.75 V and 5.25 V. Our threshold is much lower than this to prevent any tolerance issues.

    Any way , I have one question.

    Question 

        About  Type 3.5V and   we understand about reason by lower voltage Vbus Spec.

       Any way  could you tell me about  3.5 ±　??　%

    　I think   Max is  5.25V  by Vbus Voltage range spec , but  how about  Min Voltage at  BQ24392 ?? 

       

     This is Vbus and Valid threshold range

          ???  V    (min )    <   3.5V (Typ)   <  4.75V ( Vbus Min spec)  <   5.25V  (Vbus Max spec)  

     

      Could you tell us about this  ??? V (min) spec ??

    Min = 3.53 V

    Max = 3.59 V

    I want  to confirm  Min Voltage.

    Is it Min spec 3.53V ??

    But this Voltage bigger than Typical Voltage 3.5V.

    Any way , I have other one question.

    [ Question ]  

    Customer want  to hope,  Retry USB detect  sequence for this device when USB detect  "Fails".

    Now we think using ON/OFF  for Good_Bat pin for detect sequence again.

    Can possible retry USB Detect  by Good_Bat pin ON / OFF sequence?

    Hello Jasper,

    The values I provided were from characterization results.  These are not absolute min/max values that a customer could possibly see.  Again the threshold for detection is much much lower than the USB spec of 4.75 to 5.25 so a slight variance of even 0.2 V will not affect the end application.

    You can only re-trigger detection after the DBP timer has expired (30 min).  After this timer expires toggling the GOOD_BAT pin will cause detection to trigger again.  Other than this there is no way to re-trigger detection.
