TS3USB30E / TS3USB221E Impedance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3USB221E, TS3USB30E

Hi,

Could you please let me know the output impedance of the D1+,D2+ and D1-,D2- pin during the device in disable mode ( OE/ is high). the datasheet mentions the pin will be opened, will it be in high impedance mode.

If these pins are open / high impedance, if I apply voltage greater than 7V what will happen to these pins?

currently customer is using Max4884, which will be in high impedance mode. If you can suggest similar replacement for this device is also good.

  • Hi Velmurugan,

I will look into the high-impedance question.

For an input of >7V, regardless of the state of the switches, going above 7V will damage the device (Absolute Max in datasheet of TS3USB30E and TS3USB221E).

Regarding the Max4884, it appears to be an overvoltage protection IC, not a USB multiplexer. How is the customer using the Max4884 in their USB application?
