Hi Team,

Our customer is considering to use TS3USB3000. Below is the simple schematic.

Customer will only use the positive side of the signal pin.
They are concerning the output noise on MHL+ when switching from MHL+ to USB+, using SEL pin. (Switching signal OFF)

Could you please give us your opinion ?

If you have a measurement data, we appreciate if you could share us.

Hi Kawai,

To avoid problems with noise, we recommend terminating each "OPEN" pin with a 50-Ω resistor.

We will tell customer to terminate the OPEN pins with 50ohm resistor.

Do you have any idea if there is signal flattering at MHL+ pin, when turning switch OFF from MHL+ to USB+ ?

Hi Takushi,

Our part is a passive switch that does not modify the shape of the signal. Any signal flattening after turn-off will be caused by external RC on the PCB.

It is best to stop transmitting the MHL signal before switching to the USB channel.
