Hi,

Trying to control a input which needs to be at logic 1 or 0 in a battery portable application.(Vbat 4,5volts)

I can only use a hand controlled SPST switch.

Should I use an analogue switch and which model.

Power consumption is critical for both states. (0 and 1)

You can use an analog switch in your application.

You can use the TS5A63157 SPDT to select between VBAT and GND. Let me know what you think of this switch - I can help you select another if you would like.

Many of the analog switches require VCC before a signal input. If you expect VBAT before VCC input to the switch, you can protect the switch with at least a 100-Ω resistor in series on the VBAT input to avoid exceeding the datasheet current clamp ratings.

Hi again,

What happens when the IN pin is floating? My application demands to consider this state as LOW. Is this the case ?

The IN pin floating leaves the part in an indeterminate state. You should pull down the IN pin with a 10k resistor if you want to keep it low.

Hello Ryan,

I havent found a solution yet. The application scenario is as shown at the picture. Can you suggest for me a suitable IC ? (I think a toggle type is what I need)

Vbat=3 up to 5 volts, Power consumption rqred ~10μA max, Default output at power up '0'. Possible outputs '0' GND and '1' Vbat.
