Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3DV621, TS3DV642

Hi Team,

My customer already uses TS3DV621 for his application and considers to use TS3DV642 for next model.

By the way, why these devices aren't pin compatible?
I believe these are similar functionality and TS3DV642 is next generation device of TS3DV621.

  • Kensuke-san,

You are correct the TS3DV642 is the next generation device of TS3DV621.  The TS3DV642 has many upgrades in performance to accommodate the newer HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2a requirements.  The reason for the pinout change is to improve the layout and routing to allow for the differential pairs to be routed parallel to each other and symmetrical as much as possible.

The alternating A and B signal paths in the TS3DV621 causing several routing issues while grouping the A signal paths and B signal paths together allows for better routing in the TS3DV642.

    Thank you,
