I need a 12 Gbps 2:1 Replacement for PI3DBS12412A

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3DDR4000

On behalf of the disty fr the customer:

Customer needs a replacement to the PI3DBS12412A (10-12GBPS 2-lane 2:1 Mux/De-Mux switch).

  • Rania,

What is the application use case? I would say our closest match to the PI3DBS12412 would be the TS3DDR4000 or HD3SS3212.

    Thank you,
    Adam

  • Dear Adam,
Both PI3DBS12412 and TS3DDR4000 are pin to pin compatible. I mounted PI3DBS12412 in my NVDIMM Modules, it works pretty well.
But I tried to mount TS3DDR4000 instead of PI3DBS12412 . the data of NVDIMM controller and Nand Flash were wrong and the function was abnormal.
Having tried to slow down the frequency , the data showed correct and the function was normal.

Have you ever encountered this issue? May you give me some suggestion? Thanks.
  • Lucifer,

It is tough for me to compare the spec of the PI3DBS12412 since I cannot find the datasheet online only a product brief.

    1) What frequency were you trying to pass through the TS3DDR4000 that it couldn't and the PI3DBS12412 could?

    2) What's the max frequency could the TS3DDR4000 could correctly pass?

    3) Do you have any scope shots of the input and outputs of the switch?  Can you see any distortion?

    Thank you,

    Adam
