TS3DV642A0RUAR mux demux

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3DV642

Hi,

TS3DV642 12-Channel 1:2 MUX/DEMUX is recommended for General Purpose High-Speed Signal Switching.

  1. Can I use this part for muxing RGMII MAC signals?(TXC,TXD[3..0],TX_CTL etc)?
  2. If not, can you suggest some other part which would fit for the above application?

Regards,

Bhavya

  • Bhavya,

Yes, TS3DV642 12-Channel 1:2 MUX/DEMUX is recommended for General Purpose High-Speed Signal Switching.  To evaluate if a switch is suitable for a particular protocol like RGMII you need to look at the datarate/bandwidth, voltage swing, and number of channels.

For RGMII I believe the answers to those questions are in the table below.  The TS3DV642 has plenty of bandwidth (>7GHz), sufficient number of channels (12),  and recommended signal swing on the data lines be within 0-5.5 V.

I also typed in RGMII into the search bar and found these threads that also may be helpful.

    Thank you,

  • Hi Adam,

    Thanks for the reply.

I had some doubts with respect to pins HPD,CEC,SDA and SCL of TS3DV642A0RUAR. Can I use these pins also and connect to  LVCMOS RGMII signals.

    eg:

    HPD---------RGMII_RXD1

    CEC---------RGMII_RXD2

    SDA---------RGMII_RXD3

    SCL---------RGMII_RXDV

    Regards,

    Bhavya

  • Bhavya,

What is your doubt with respect to pins HPD,CEC,SDA and SCL of TS3DV642A0RUAR LVCMOS RGMII signals?

All of the signal paths in the TS3DV642 are the same since the datasheet does not have different specs for different signal paths.

This post may also help answer your question.

    Thank you,

    Adam
