TS3V713ELRTGR low impedance

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TS3V713EL

My customer find in ICT detect this part failed due to low impedance compare with good unit, but we didn't find the impedance control spec in datasheet, could you advice if the low impedance can be accept or not?

  • Stacey,

    What is ICT detect?

Are you comparing a failed IC to a good IC or a failed system with a good system?

The impedance of the signal path of the TS3V713EL can be found in the datasheet called on-state resistance (ron) and on-state capacitance (con/coff).

You can also use this thread to see how to calculate the impedance of the switch when the device is off.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the response but I don't know how to link your reply to customer measurement result as below that they measure on a failed IC to a good IC (not on a failed system with a good system)

    Thanks!

    Antony

  • Antony,

Pin 1 of the TS3V713EL is a signal path and pin 3 is ground.  How is the customer measuring the impedance on these pins?

The impedance from pin 1 to pin 27 will change depending if the signal path is on or off.

How did the customer know they have a problem and decided to look at the impedance on two different ICs?

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Adam,

Normally customer wil have a test station to measure all the ball impedance is normal or not.  Usually they'll define the normal value range based on the statistics number based on the impedance value they measured from some amount of the boards.

For the queston they're asking now, they caught these chips from the test station mentioned above which they found the value is different from other chips.  But, actually they didn't encounter any application issues with these chips.  They just want to make sure if these impedance is still in normal range or not.

The impedace measurement value I provided earlier is using a multi-meter with chips already removed from the board.  Please let me know what else you need.

    Thanks!

    Antony

  • Antony,

Have you ordered some samples of this device and put a multi meter on it yourself from some fresh units?

Can you provide some data of the statistical sample so we can know how many devices are suspect and we can get the quality teams involved.

    Thank you,
    Adam
  • Hi Adam,

No.  I didn't order sample to do such measurements for statistics.  What kind of statiscs base you need?  Please specify this in detail and we may cross check with customers to get such numbers.

    THanks!

    Antony

  • Antony,

I could order 15 samples of this device and place a multi meter on the pins to measure the impedance.  This would allow us to verify that the customer is seeing the same results we are seeing with good units.  However, it may be faster if you ran this test as I'm currently running a long backlog of customer support this week.

You mentioned that the customer has measured a several of these devices and has come up with a statistical sample of good versus bad devices.  I was looking for more information on how may good vs bad ICs they have tested

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Adam.

Do you have a chance to verify the 15 pcs sample you order?
    Thanks.
  • Stacey,

No, I have not had a chance to verify 15 pcs sample order impedance on each pin of the IC. I ordered the ICs today and should have them in house next week. Would you please order samples to your location and take a multimeter to measure the impedance like the customer is measuring to see if you have a same results as the customer?

    Thank you,
    Adam
