TS3L501E: Behavior of power-down mode

Hi

TS3L501E supports power-down mode and it is capable of Vin=0 to 3.6V when VCC=0V.

Does this input mean only control input(PD and SEL)?

If we set power-down mode, should we shut off the any data input (A0-A7, B0-B7, C0-C7 and LEDx)?

    Na Na,

    It looks like you may have identified a datasheet error. When you take the PD pin High the I/O paths (A0-A7, B0-B7, C0-C7 and LEDx) will be in a Hi-Z state. We should have a spec in the datasheet for the leakage current when the device is in the Hi-Z state. Typically for these types of switches the leakage current when Hi-Z is < 2uA so you shouldn't have an issue with a voltage on the signal path when in PD pin is high. I will submit a request to the design team to confirm and correct the datasheet.

    Na Na,

    I tested a device in the lab and saw that there < uA of leakage through the switch with Vdd= 0V and 3V on the signal path.

    We will take the action to explore further with design and make a datasheet update as the business case justifies.
