Is SN74CB3Q3245PWR a direct replacement of IDTQS3VH245 for hot swap applications

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CB3Q3245

Hi,

We want to introduce SN74CB3Q3245PWR  in place of IDTQS3VH245 for CPCI based Hot Swap Application in several of our boards.

Will it be possible to use it in direct replacement?

Please inform urgently.

Regards.

  • Arm,

I typed in IDTQS3VH245 into the ti.com cross reference tool and it returned SN74CB3Q3245 as a direct replacement.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Thanks. I had no idea about such tool.

BUT... Can there be any doubt regarding a direct replacement part still or whether all the possible parameters are taken care while mentioning a direct replacment.

What I mean to say, there can be functional issues which are deep and may not have been taken care.

Like in this case, IDT data sheet clearly mentions Hot Swap but TI does not although it writes PCI application. For this disparity, I was in doubt.
  • ARM,

There is a specification in the datasheet that states there is good isolation on the signal path with Vcc =0V.  The term hot swap isn't very specific to me and can be vague but having isolation on the signal path without power to the IC tells me there is no power sequencing issues and you may add or remove this device from a powered up system without issue.

    Thank you,

    Adam
