TS3A5018: What value of pull up or pull down resistors are needed on switch enable pins

Part Number: TS3A5018

What should be the value of pull down resistor for EN pin of TS3A5018?

  • The pull down resistor of /EN pin and IN pin highly depends on its driving IO from the microcontroller side. The goal is to satisfy the Vih and Vil requirements of EN and IN pins under various V+ conditions. For example,

    1. if the microcontroller output is an open drain butter, a pull-up instead of pull down resistor must be used.

    2. If the output of the microcontroller is push-pull CMOS structure, pull down resistor might not be necessary or a 10M pull down resistor may be considered to avoid floating condition of /EN.

    3. If /EN is not driven by any active sources and is always pulled to ground, hundred or thousand Ohm resistors can be considerred, 470, 1K, 4.7K Ohms for example.
