TS3A24159: Switch/Mux that can meet 100 mΩ requirement and replace electromechanical relay

Part Number: TS3A24159

E2E,

I am trying to replace a electromechanical relay and need the following switch parameters to work in my application:

  • 200mA(max)
  • 0.15V to 1.5V signal
  • Low power consumption
  • Ron < 100m

The TS3A24159 as a possible solution as it can drive the output current and supply desired signal voltage during operation, however the only issue is its 300mΩ value.

Is there another solution that can meet this 100mΩ requirement?

  • Kedar,

You have correctly used the TI.com switch search tool to find the lowest on-state resistance switch in the portfolio.  It is possible that you could place the two switches in parallel to try and reduce the on-state resistance even further than 0.3 ohms.

I would try looking at the load switch portfolio which will have devices that have even lower on-state resistance because they are trying to minimize voltage drops and heat in power applications.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Kedar,

I'm from the Power Switches team, unfortunately we do not have any integrated solutions that can work at low voltages from 0.15V to 1.5V.

However, we do have a power multiplexing solution using the TPS2295x load switch that could work. The device has an Ron of 14mΩ and operates from 0.7V to 5V.

Please refer to page 7 of this app note for more details on the power mux configuration. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,
