SN74CB3Q3253: Is it possible to pass analog signal

Part Number: SN74CB3Q3253
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CBTLV3253

Hi,

I would like you to confirm whether there is no concern about below.

* Can user pass analog signal(Freq is approx 20kHz) ?

According to datasheet, user can pass analog signal from following sentence.

* Supports Both Digital and Analog Applications

However, it seems that almost sentence is described about digital signal, so could you confirm about above just in case ?

Best regards

  • Hi Ryuuichi,

Your understanding is correct. You can assume when SN74CB3Q3253 channel is enabled, it will behave as a 5 Ohm series resistor.

In your case, the signal frequency is only 20kHz, which is not high at all for this type of analog switch.

If high linearity is required, SN74CB3Q3253 is the best fit, while if the design is cost driven, you may check SN74CBTLV3253 as well.
  • Hi Fan-san,

    Thank you for your reply.

I understood that we can use this device in this case.

    >while if the design is cost driven, you may check SN74CBTLV3253 as well.

    Thank you for your suggestion.

But we need 5V tolerant in data line, so I choose SN74CB3Q3253. (If 5V tolerant is not required, actually, LV3253 is best.)

    Best Regards
