TS5A3159: keep low Resistance between COM with NC when V+ powered off ?

Part Number: TS5A3159

Dear TI Experts,

My customer need an analog switch in a BT earphone project,  when battery is no power, auido sigal need pass COM to NC, so this requirment may need switch keep low resistance between COM and NC even when V+=0V. Is this possible for TS5A3159? If not, is there any other suggestion for this function? Thanks a lot. This fuction is required on many battery powered earphone, such as BT earphone, ANC headset, etc.

  • Bruce,

No, the COM and NC connection for the TS5A3159 device is not defined with V+ = 0V so you cannot guarantee the signal path high or low impedance.

The TS53159A has the back power protection feature the defines the connection COM to NC as HI-Z when V+ = 0V

The switches and multiplexers FAQ page states TI currently doesn't have depletion FET switches which would guarantee a low impedance path with V+ = 0V.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Dear Adam,
Got it. Thanks a lot for your support.
