TS5A3159: leakage current definition

Part Number: TS5A3159

Dear team,

Could you please explain more details about TS5A3159's leakage current specification like INC(off), INC(on) and ICOM(on)? How do we measure these parameters and what is current flow direction of INC(off), INC(on) and ICOM(off)? Could you please draw the leakage current flow direction (from where to where) in Figure 11 and 12 to be clear? I am a little confuse about this specification since there is few detail descriptions in datasheet. Thank you.

Regards,

Polly Chung

  • Polly,

The terms on and off are referencing the internal FET that connects COM to NC or the internal FET connecting COM to NO is on (conducting) or off (hi-Z).

The off state leakage measures how well the off FET isolates the NC/NO pin from COM pin.  This is useful to know how much influence a signal on the unselected channel can influence the COM pin.

The on state leakage measures how much signal is lost due to the paracitic junction leakages inside the device.  This places a signal on the selected channel and measures how much energy doesn't make it to the COM pin and is lost inside the IC.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Dear Adam,

Thanks for your explanation. It is clear to me now.
