Is there a SPICE model available for CD4053B?

If not, how can I approximate via inputs to a user-generated model?

  • Greg, we don't have a spice model for the CD4053B. What parameters are you interested in evaluating using the model? A simplified user model would be to simply implement a series resistor & loading capactiance based on the datasheet values.

  • Greg, crosstalk can be tricky to model using a simplified switch model. Fundamentally, it is parasitic coupling between adjacent channels, however it is best modeled using silicon data characteristics.

    The CD4053 datasheet has freq/crosstalk listed for -40dB level. Is there a specific frequency range & configuration you need? Can you share some background on what is driving the crosstalk modeling request?

    Sorry about the delayed response. I was out of the office when your e2e post came in.

    We have ordered a couple of CD4053 units to generate a typical cross-talk plot in the lab. Should be ble to follow up by end of week with an update.

    With below pin out of CD4053B:

    To measure Ax OR Ay to Ay cross talk (pin 14 to pin 13, switch closed on ax), the channel input and output is connected to the network analyzer as below.

    The equation used to generate the plot is:

    Crosstalk (dB)= 20log(Vout/Vs)

    Where
    VS : Voltage applied to source pin of on channel
    VOUT: Voltage measured at output pin of off channel

    A general cross talk graph is represented as frequency (Hz) vs magnitude (dB)

     

    Similarly, below graph is the Bx OR By to By( pin 15 to pin 1, Bx switch closed):
