Duplicate or splitt LVDS signal

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90LV001, DS90LV804, DS90LV004, DS25BR110

Hello colleagues,

I have a question and I'm getting nowhere.

I have an LVDS interface for an LVDS display panel, single channel, three lanes and a clock signal.

How can I use this signal for two display panels? There are two identical panels.

Thanks in advance!

  • You should be able to put multiple receivers on the same bus as long as they are connected with very short stubs. This usually requires buffers like the DS90LV001 to transmit the signals to the actual destinations:

For four LVDS channels, use, e.g., the DS90LV804.

  • Hello Clemens,

Thank you very much for the quick answer.

My problem is that the distance between the transmitter (single board computer) and the displays is about 1.5 meters... As I understand it, the buffer should be placed as close as possible to the source. Right?

But I would use the DS90LV004, because of the package, is easier to solder.

Here is the link to the display: display

    Kind regards,
    Heinrich

  • Hello Heinrich,

If the distance is long, then a buffer with preemphasis/equalization may be needed, on Tx side or Rx side or possibly on both sides of the cable, depending on your rate (frequency) and environment (type of cable, etc.). Please take a look at the DS25BRxxx devices (e. g. DS25BR110, ...).

    Regards,
