TS5A3157: TS5A3157DBV usage problem

TS5A3157DBV for car product TBOX audio switching function

1. During the small batch internal tooling test, the audio switch is partially faulty. In October, there were 15 faults in 500 products. In November, there were 7 faults in 500 products, and the failure rate was 3%. The analog switches TS5A3157DBVR were purchased in the same batch. ;
2. MIC_P signal part TS5A3157DBVR is not soldered, R130, R157, R173 soldering;
3. MIC_N signal part TS5A3157DBVR soldering, R129 is not soldered, power on, MIC_SWITCH microcontroller control output high level 5V, COM and NO are connected, the audio signal is off state, MIC_SWITCH microcontroller control output low level, COM and NC are connected, Send an audio signal.
4. When the factory line tooling was detected, it was found that there was chip damage and MIC_SWTCH could not be pulled low;
Can you give me some advice, is there a problem with the use?

    Standard failure debug questions:

    1)Is the failure on both U30 and U32?

    2) Does replacing U30 and U32 with good switch on a bad board solve issue?

    3) Does mounting suspect unit to a known good board cause failure?

    Understanding your circuit:

    Which nodes are supplying audio signal and which nodes are the load for that signal?

    Which node is your microcontroller supplying the IN pin signal?  MIC_SWITCH or MIC_SWITCH_1? 

    What is the voltage range of the audio signal? 

    Are you able to connect a blue wire from U32 IN pin 6 directly to ground to get the node low? 

    Case 1: 

    a. U30 and R129 are not populated 

    Case 2:

    a. U30 and R129 are not populated

    Standard failure debug questions:

    U32 is faulty, U30 is not installed.

    2) Does replacing U30 and U32 with good switch on a bad board solve issue?

    U32 replacement, problem solving

    3) Does mounting suspect unit to a known good board cause failure?

    After the replacement, the fault still exists

    Understanding your circuit:

    Which nodes are supplying audio signal and which nodes are the load for that signal?
    MIC_P MIC_N provides audio signal, MIC_P_1 MIC_N_1 signal load

    Which node is your microcontroller supplying the IN pin signal? MIC_SWITCH or MIC_SWITCH_1?

    6 feet can be directly grounded, 3-4 ON

    Eagle,

    I don't see any issue with you application at this time since this device is a 5V device and you are supplying it with 5V it will support 0 to 5V signaling.  I  will check with our quality engineer to see if there are any known reports of issues with this device. 

    4. When the factory line tooling was detected, it was found that there was chip damage

    How did the factory line detect issue?  Can you describe the chip damage?  Is there visible damage to the IC packaging? 

     

    Are you able to connect a blue wire from U32 IN pin 6 directly to ground to get the node low?
    6 feet can be directly grounded, 3-4 ON

    This tells me the suspect part can work properly if a strong pull down is present on pin 6. 

    Is the micro controller GPIO able to provide 5V and 0V to pin 6 directly?  Do you have R173 and R157 for level shifting purposes? 

    To create a stronger pull down and isolate the issue, are you able to replace R173 with 0 ohm and remove R157 on a suspect board to be able to get the micro controller GPIO to pull down the MIC_SWITCH node and connect COM to NC?

    R173 with 0 ohm， micro controller GPIO can pull down the MIC_SWITCH node and connect COM to NC.

    R173 is used for current limiting, how much is appropriate?

    The IN pin of the switch doesn't consume much current and can be directly connected to a micro controller.
