TS12A12511: Switch between USB and Battery Source?

Hi,

I need a switch for my board design to toggle between USB and Battery,

- The board can be powered by USB(5V) or Battery(7.4V)

- When USB connected for programming, I need to remove battery connection (not physically), by circuit.

- And when USB disconnected the board need to switch to battery.

Is TS12A12511 is a good option to use as a switch for this application? if not suitable can you please recommend another part?

Manimaran,

The TS12A12511 device is the only signal switch that can support 7.4 V battery in a 1-channel 2:1 configuration. However since this is a low power signal switch it can only handle 50mA of current.

If you need to support more current in your application I would look at the power switches like the TPS2120.

Thanks Adam for your support, I can eliminate now TS12A, I am looking at TPS2120, if I have any further question will come back to the forum.
