SN74CBTLV16212: Could it work when VCC=3.3V and signal level on port A&B be 1.8V ？

Hello,

Since its VCC supply voltage range is 2.3V~3.6V, I give a 3.3V supply on VCC，but signals on both port A and B are all 1.8V level such as LVCMOS-18 standard IOs.

Is that OK?

Hi Tang,

As per the device datasheet, the minimum V_IH required is 2V for Vcc range 2.7 - 3.6V.

Hello Harish,

Thank you very much for the replying.

In the table VIN refers to control input which I think the requirement is for S0,S1 and S2 other than port A&B.

And I also find a document of Application Report, doc No. is SZZA030, which explains the characteristics of variety of swithes including CBTLV. An example of SN74CBTLV3125 is shown in the doc.

Tang,

The A and B path will support voltages between 0V and Vcc for the SN74CBTLVXXXX type of devices. These are not buffered passive FET switches. What ever signal you put on one side will propagate to the other with a little bit of loss due to the on-stage resistance and leakage.

No issues passing a signal with lower voltage than the supply on the A and B path.
