TS5A23159: Isolation in Power-Down Mode and Back-powering

Part Number: TS5A23159

I’m looking at the TS5A23159 which has “Isolation in Power-Down Mode, Vcc = 0”.

The Abs Max ratings state inputs are Vcc+0.5V max, which seems in contradiction with the isolation function. When in isolation mode, I should be able to apply normal signal voltage up to 3.3V and be okay. Does the Abs Max rating only apply when Vcc does not equal zero?

Please confirm.

Thank you!

  • Cassidy,

The performance in the recommended operating conditions and electrical specifications is supported by TI.  You can see that this device supports isolation when Vcc = 0V in the leakage spec.  The abs max condition would apply to cases where Vcc does not equal 0V.

    Thank you,

    Adam
