Suitable SPDT Switch Solution with low Rdon

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74CBT16232, TS5MP646

Dear Team,

My customer is looking for a 8 bit or 16 bit SPDT MUX for 400kHz PWM signal.

I found SN74CBT16232, but its Rdon (Max) is 12 ohm. My customer hopes that Rdon could less than 5 ohm.

Could you please help to provide a suitable solution for my customer?

Thank you.

Jim

  • Jim,

Why do you need lower Ron for a PWM signal?  Since it is a low current digital application (~1mA) the voltage drop across the switches Ron will be low.  (10mA)*(12 ohm) = 120mV.  Will 120mV cause the signal to drop below the Vih min of the receiver?

You can use the ti.com switch search tool to filter for 8 or 16 channel 2:1 and sort Ron max least to greatest.  The TS5MP646 will be the lowest Ron option.

    Thank you,

    Adam
