TS5MP645: whether the device can be used for mipi hotswap at the left side

Part Number: TS5MP645

Hi team,

My customer wants to use the device to do mipi hotswap at the left side. They will power down the left side module before do the hot swap. Whether our device can be used for here? Thanks.

  • Frank,

I'm sure I understand what the concern is with the TS5MP645 device.  This device is a passive FET switch and the switch doesn't care what happens with the MIPI modules during the hot swap as long as the voltages remain within the recommended operating conditions.

The TS5MP645 has a feature called powered off protection that will make the signal path Hi-Z when Vdd=0V so could protect your processor I/O pins during the hot swap.

    Thank you,

    Adam
