TS5A23157-Q1: What is the different point between TS5A23157QDGSRQ1 and TS5A23157TDGSRQ1?

Part Number: TS5A23157-Q1

 Hello guys,

One of my customers is concidering using TS5A23157-Q1 for their next products.

The customer found that TS5A23157-Q1 has 2 part number, TS5A23157QDGSRQ1 and TS5A23157TDGSRQ1.

I think the different point is operation temperature range only. TS5A23157QDGSRQ1 operation temperature range is -40 to 125 degree C and TS5A23157TDGSRQ1 temp range is -40 to 105 degree C.

 Is my understanding correct?

Also the customer wants to know where TS5A23157TDGSRQ1 (-40 to 105 degree C version) characteristics are described in the device datasheet.

I checked the datasheet but I couldn't find TS5A23157TDGSRQ1 (-40 to 105 degree C version) characteristics in the device datasheet.

Could you tell me where TS5A23157TDGSRQ1 (-40 to 105 degree C version) characteristics are described in the datasheet?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

 Best regards,

 Kazuya.

  • Kazuya,

Your understanding is correct.  The TS5A23157-Q1 device electrical characteristics are specified at 125 deg C.  Why do you need to know the specification at 105 deg C?  Are the specs not good enough at 125 deg C?

With lower temperatures there will be improved Ron, leakage, current consumption, and timing.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  •  Hello Adam,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply.

The customer just wanted to know whether the electrical characteristics of -40C~125C range  in the device datasheet can be applied to 105 degree C version or not. I think it can be applied. Is it correct?

Could I ask you an additional question from the customer?

     Q. Why TI has 105C version? Is it lower price than 125C version?

Could you please give me your answer?

Thank you again and best regards,

     Kazuya.

  • Kazuya,

This device was upgraded to 125 deg C in 2013 and the electrical spec performance will be valid 125 deg C.  The "T" orderable number is still available for customers who are currently shipping with that orderable number.   If you are making a new design I would recommend using the orderable number without the "T" rated for 125 degC.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  •  Adam,

Thank you for you rreply. I could understand well.

     Best regards,

     Kazuya.
