Hello,

I want to design a transmitter and receiver switch fro acoustic radar and operate at 2250 Hz acoustic signals. The purpose of the switch is the same as the RF TR switch i.e. isolate the transmitter and receiver and fast switching. I am not getting any good material for this subject. With the available resources, I have designed one circuit. I have two issues with this circuit.

1. I need to put two power sources as an input (one from the power amplifier and another from the antenna) but it is not allowed by the software.

2. How I can validate or analyze its operation.

Hi Parag,

Can you provide more information on the signal level you are expecting to pass through the switch at 2.25GHz?

What supply voltage do you have available in the system?

I would recommend looking into the TMUX136 which is the highest bandwidth switch (6.1GHz) at TI.

Validating and analyzing the switch operation is typically determined by the end application, and how much precision is needed. For validating the switch operation verifying the Truth table and pinout in your design is the best place to start.

Hi Dakotah,

Thanks for your reply. My switch is for the 2.25 KHz signal and not for 2.25 GHz. The transmitting signals are in the range of 50 Volt whereas receiving signals are only in 50mv range. The end application for this switch is in Acoustic Radar. It's kind of radar but works on the acoustic (Sound) signals. There are lots of radar switches available in the market for RF waves but unable to find any for sound waves specifically in my 2.25 kHz frequency range.

Hi Parag,

Thank you for mentioning your signal frequency, I read your units as MHz and thought you were dealing with a GHz signal.

TI does not currently have any devices that can support 50V on the signal path. I will take this info and feed it to our product definition team to evaluate this for future applications.

Can you help me to design such kind of switches? I have uploaded my circuit for TR swithc in previous message. Also some recommendation of usefull literature or books on this subject will be great.

Hi Parag,

As mentioned, TI does not current have any signal switches that support up to 50V on the signal path. I will feed this into our product development team.

I would recommend you look at some of TI's T/R switches for ultrasound applications but it appears you have already had multiple conversations regarding those parts on E2E
