TS5MP646: Compatibility with DisplayPort v1.2

Part Number: TS5MP646

Have a good day!

I am looking for the mux 2:1 for DisplayPort v1.2 and found this mux.

Is this switch compatible with DisplayPort v1.2? Bandwidth is higher than need, and looks like it is have better parametrs than CBTL04DP211 from NXP,

but the thing is that NXP solution is adopted for DisplayPort. And I have a little dilemma.

Thank you for help!

  • Hi, Valentin,

Since the TS5MP646 is designed with passive FET/ pass-gate based implementation, the device is not limited to support only certain specific protocols. As long as the switch has high enough bandwidth and the signal to-be-pass is within the recommended operating range, the device can handle the signal with no issue. More information on the E2E post

With its 3GHz bandwidth, the TS5MP646 can handle DisplayPort v1.2 HBR mode running at 2.7Gbits/s data with ease. You might start seeing some slight signal desegregation running the HBR2 mode at 5.4Gbits/s, but theoretically it should still be able to handle that data rate .

    Thanks,
    David
