I am a newbie, trying to fit components for a simple multiplexing application.
In the application, I need to use an 1:8 MUX to send an analog AND/OR digital signal < 3.3V from a single port to multiple ones (one at a time) and then latch it.
How, I have referred to both the 529 and the 4351 ICs. Which one should I prefer and why? Either chips contain a latch and both are High speed CMOS. Moreover, their supply voltages too seem not to be differing b y much.
Can somebody help me make the correct choice?
And BTW< how does the 4351 differ from 4851? Is this a new version?
Hi Rahul,
I had a few questions to get some clarification:
Difference between 4351 and 4851: Main difference is between the RON.
See the comparison table below for the 2 switches.
Apologies. I did mean the HC259.
Both the 74HC259 and the 74HC4351 feature a latch and both of them are 1:8
Is it possible that the header/subject of this thread be changed? I realize they typo (4851 instead of 4351) after I had completed the question when I created it.
Thanks for the response
Rahul
