TS3A5018: According to datasheet it looks like operating temperature is only up to 85°C? Will this part be destroyed if that’s tripled up to 250°C?

Part Number: TS3A5018

e2e,

What is the peak temperature and maximum durable time above 250C, and is there further requirement in SMT and rework process?

According to datasheet it looks like operating temperature is only up to 85°C? Will this part be destroyed if that’s tripled up to 250°C?

Thank you,

Adam

  • Hi Adam,

The TS3A5018 has a max reflow temperature of 260°C. So your part will not be destroyed.

This information can be found in the "Quality and Packaging" Tab of the device folder on ti.com (see attached image).  Under your part number, go to the "MSL Rating / Peak Reflow" column to see the max reflow temperature of 260°C.

There's another great thread on e2e with several resources on this topic if you are interested in more information.

    Thank you,

    Saminah
