TS3A27518E: Can I short the NO and NC pins together to make a through path from COM to NC/NO switch between SPI flash mode 2 bit and 4 bit?

Experts,

I'm trying to find a device to mux between SPI flash in 2 bit and 4 bit mode. I'm looking at using TS3A27518 and effectively only MUXing two of the bits in this 6-channel device, SDIO2 and SDIO3 (COM5/6 – NC5/6 vs. COM5/6 – NO5/6), depending on whether they want 2 bit or 4 bit mode.

 

Would tying NC and NO to create a through path that doesn't change while toggling the select pin cause any issues with leakage/loading, etc?

    Hi Adam,

    You are mentioning a 4bit and 2 bit mode on a 6-channel device, would the two remaining channels be for the WP and HOLD signal?
    Will the other channels use the same WP and HOLD signal? 

    Connecting the NC and NO pin of one channel would work with this device, you'd have to consider the sum of off isolation and crosstalk depending on the signal connected to NO/NC.
