CD4052B: Could this part use as I2C MUX?

Part Number: CD4052B

Hi team,

My customer need a I2C mux, but the PCA9544 or similar product is too expensive.

Could you please help to check if CD4052B could do the MUX for four I2C signal?

The I2C signal rate is around ~500kbps.

Thanks.

James

  • Hi James,

For digital applications we recommended the switch bandwidth be 1.5 times the datarate. In that case, the CD4052B can work for your application.

Have you looked at the TCA9544 which is basically pin to pin direct replacement for PCA9544?

    Thanks

    Saminah
